Blogging

MGSI started a blog so we can have our followers  read  about who we are, what we do and answer any questions that our customers may have or may want to ask.
I have never been a huge fan of blogging or have followed other bloggers, but I think in a business aspect, it can give knowledgeable information to both the customers and the employees. It can be a bonding experience between both the customers and I by having this blog be more like an open ended section for people to share experiences and ask questions that they may have.

Choosing the Right Stone

At MGSI we want to make sure all of you select the right stone you want for your project in terms of texture and color but also have the knowledge to know the difference between each stone and where the best place for their use is.

If you are wanting to redecorate your kitchen counter tops the best natural stone would be Granite,Soapstone or Quartzite. These stones are durable and will last a very long time.

Marble and Onyx have beautiful colors and lavishing swirls and textures but should save these natural stones for the bathroom, flooring or fireplaces. They have a softer stone, scratch more easier and highly reactive to acids these stones would not be a great place to put as a kitchen counter top.

Once you made a selection of what type of stone you'll have you want to pick the right color. Something that you can look at every day and not be overwhelmed with it after a period of time. Darker stones tend to be heavier with less chance of staining or discoloring but they tend to show fingerprints and dust more. With lighter colored natural stones it will make a small room seem larger. Dust and fingerprints are less visible but need to be sealed more frequently and staining is more present.

There are many different types of colors to chose from whether it's a darker or lighter stone to solids, swirls, dots or lots of veins in a natural stone.

After choosing the type of stone and the color, you will then chose the finish that you are looking for that either represents where you are placing the stone or what type of look you prefer. The finishes range from polished and honed to textured finishes as brushed, leather and flamed.
